2012 fue un año de muchos discos, y qué manera mejor de despedirlo que con dos discos más.

El primero de ellos ya estaba anunciado: luego del single adelanto, Alonso Morning nos muestra por fin su tercer larga duración, 'Vibra la Patria'. Una nueva colección de híbridos que puede a la vez sorprenderte, divertirte, revitalizar temas que ya te tenían podrido y gustarle a tu tía. David Bowie vs. Divididos, Hot Chip vs. Gilda, Rick Astley vs. N.E.R.D.... cualquier combinación absurda que se te ocurra es bailable en manos de Alonso, el mashupero serial más shockeante del Cono Sur.

El segundo, en cambio, le hace honor a su nombre haciendo una aparición inesperada. 'Discover the Unexpected' es el nuevo disco de Good Time for Dynacom, que ni sabíamos que estaban grabando, hasta que aparecieron con todo terminado. Y también hubo sorpresas al escucharlo. Después de la trilogía 'Freaky Fashion', bastante eléctrica, los Dynacom cambian radicalmente y se van para la electrónica chillwave. Lo único que no sorprende es descubrir que la magia para crear melodías es la misma de siempre.

Estos dos discazos, entonces, son un broche de oro para un año que tuvo mucho, bueno y muy variado. Repasemos:

En octubre tuvimos 'One More Pirata', el single de Alonso Morning que adelantaba este nuevo disco, pero que sigue valiendo la pena porque también trae dos temas que no están en el LP. En septiembre, llegó el esperado segundo álbum de Los Jardines de Bruselas, 'Light and Glow', que superó a su antecesor no sólo en producción sino también en creatividad. También en ese mes regresó Javi Punga con dos nuevos álbumes de rarezas: 'El Amor Es Todo-Outtakes', con lados B de su anteúltimo LP, que editáramos en 2011, y 'Rock and Roll Punga-Demos!' con las primeras versiones y hasta los momentos de inspiración cotidiana que dieron origen a su último disco. En agosto fue el turno de Paula García, que con su proyecto Sobrenadar viene cosechando cada vez más elogios, especialmente con '1859', su último álbum que reeditamos en edición deluxe. En junio había llegado Posavasos, que hacía su debut en Mamushka con el EP 'Yuyo', un registro de su verano en el cerro, tocando pop acústico con bombo legüero y otros instrumentos autóctonos. En mayo cerramos la trilogía 'Freaky Fashion' de Good Time for Dynacom, con sus volúmenes 2 y 3. El abril les habíamos presentado a Atrás Hay Truenos, que después de tres EPs se lanzó al larga duración con excelentes resultados. 'Romanza', el disco en cuestión, es mucho más pulido y singular que sus trabajos anteriores, y alcanza puntos mucho más altos. Y todo había empezado en marzo, cuando Good Time for Dynacom nos acercó el primer capítulo de 'Freaky Fashion', su obra conceptual más ambiciosa hasta el momento.

2012 was a year full of albums, and what better way to finish it than with two more.

The first of them was already anticipated: after the advance single, Alonso Morning finally shows us his third album, 'Vibra la Patria'. A new collection of hybrids that can surprise you, amuse you, revitalize old songs you were fed up with, and also sound good to your aunt. David Bowie vs. Divididos, Hot Chip vs. Gilda, Rick Astley vs. N.E.R.D.... Any absurd crossover you might think of is danceable in the hands of Alonso, the most shocking serial mashup-ist south of the Equator.

The second one, however, honours its name by appearing unexpectedly. We didn't even know they were recording, and one day Good Time for Dynacom came and showed us 'Discover the Unexpected', their new LP. And we were surprised when we listened to it too. After the 'Freaky Fashion' trilogy, which was rather electric, they now turned radically to chillwave electronica. The only thing that is not a surprise is that their magic to craft melodies remains the same.

These two great albums are, then, a pretty classy ribbon for a year that had a lot of good and diverse music. Let's go over it.

In October we had 'One More Pirata', Alonso Morning's single foreshadowing this new album, which is still worth of your time because it features two tracks that are not in the LP. In September arrived Los Jardines de Bruselas' anticipated sophomore album, 'Light and Glow', which surpasses his predecessor not only in production but also in creativity. That same month, Javi Punga returned with two new rarity collections, 'El Amor Es Todo-Outtakes', with B-sides of his previous album, and 'Rock and Roll Punga-Demos!', with the first versions and everyday inspirations for his last studio record. In August it was Paula García's turn, with her increasingly' praised project Sobrenadar, from which we offered you a deluxe edition of '1859', her latest LP. In June arrived Posavasos, debuting in Mamushka with the 'Yuyo' EP, a recording of their summer on the mountain, playing acoustic pop with legüero drum and other folkloric instruments. In May we closed Good Time for Dynacom's 'Freaky Fashion' trilogy, with its second and third volumes. In April we had Atrás Hay Truenos, that after three EPs finally tried with a full feature, achieving outstanding results. 'Romanza' sounds a lot more polished than its predecessors, and reaches higher summits. And it all began in March, when Good Time for Dynacom showed us the first installment of their 'Freaky Fashion' trilogy, their most ambitious conceptual project to this day.

One more thing: we've gotten into shape regarding the new tendencies on devices, the whole file cloud thing and comfort in general, making the content of our whole catalogue available for streaming.
